The Type 1 diabetes is much less common compared to Type 2 diabetes and it mainly affects young people, people under 40, especially those under fourteen. Diabetes of any type is serious and this type is the worst of all.

It is related with lack of insulin. The pancreas of the patient simply stops producing insulin so that the glucose level in blood keeps on increasing causing several health problems. Several people suffering from Type 1 diabetes show symptoms of hyperglycemia.

Hyperglycemia means that the sugar or glucose level in your blood is too high to be normal. Some of the common symptoms for hyperglycemia or Type 1 diabetes are frequent hunger, frequent urination as well as frequent thirst. These symptoms will be accompanied by fatigue, blurred vision, weight loss, slower healing, itchy or dry skin, dry mouth as well as impotence in males. Your immunity will weaken down causing you to be easily infected.

The reason for the excessive or constant hunger is because although you are eating and you have glucose in your body, your body is not able to use it for energy. The reason for not being able to use glucose is the lack of insulin, which is required for glucose to pass from the blood to your body cells.

Now, you are

not able to use that glucose, as a result, you have to rid it off your system, so now you are visiting the loo more often. As a result, you lose a lot of water because of which you will experience excessive thirst. All of these symptoms are related to each other and while they might surface at the same time or they might take some time to surface.

About ten percent of American suffers from this type of diabetes. It is much more common for people to have the Type 2 diabetes. The reason or cause of this disorder is that this is an autoimmune disorder. This means that your body begins to think its own tissue or cells as some foreign body. As a result, it ends up destroying the body’s ability to produce insulin.diabetesmagnifyer

Claims are that it can result from mumps, influenza, measles, polio, rubella, or such other viruses. That is the reason it is so common among young children because these viruses are more likely to affect young children compared to adults. This can also be genetic.

As far as treatment is concerned, it can be controlled by taking regular insulin injections. This insulin goes into your blood so that cells can absorb it and use it to control the blood sugar levels.
