Neuroblastoma is a kind of cancer which is not known to many but is the very common that it stands second next to leukemia. It is estimated that around 650 children die out of this in a year in the United States as this seems to be fatal in about two thirds of the cases. Credit : nlm.nih.gov This is a cancer which affects the nervous system and it has been found that a genetic trait would boost the chance of developing this cancer in the child which also proves to be fatal most often. The researches who were able to find this trait couldn’t find out any treatments till now which could cure the disease, rather they could just give some more insight

into the neuroblastoma; like the biological causes of the disease. This causes tumors to be developed in different parts of the body like the abdomen, the neck, chest, spine and the adrenal gland. This cancer seems to be much aggressive in most of the children who are affected by this disease and it requires them to be treated intensive therapies like radiation, chemotherapy and stem ce ll transplants. The major cause of the disease is the copy number variation which is when unequal numbers of DNA are copied from the parents to the child. Lets hope for the findings to produce good results to cure this disease.
