Nestlé is voluntarily recalling its refrigerated and frozen Toll House cookie dough products after the FDA issued a warning about possible E. coli bacteria contamination . The FDA says that since March, there have been 66 reports of illness with 25 individuals needing hospitalization. Seven developed a severe complication called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome but no one has died. The results come from a continuing study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and several state and local health departments. The agencies are still investigating the cause of the possible contamination. Both said that is unusual for cookie dough to be contaminated with the bacteria.
