A study was recently conducted which studied 2000 fat people who have had surgery to reduce the size of their stomachs. The study found that women who had the procedure were less likely to get cancer than those who did not. However, the same procedure did not seem to have any of the same results in men. In fact, there was virtually no difference in the cancer rates in men who had the surgery and those who did not. The research was published online Wednesday in the medical journal, Lancet Oncology.
