Seeing the sudden rise in the number of swine flu cases reported in Australia the WHO officials have decided to take this decision. The WHO’s flu chief Keiji Fakuda however said that he did not want any adverse effects because of this decision as people may panic and government may take unwanted steps in the name of precaution and prevention. Some flu experts however feel this is a bit late from the WHO to make this decision as this flu is already a pandemic. We are now in the phase 6 said the director-general

of WHO Margaret Chan . Chan said she would announce this a pandemic after getting a concrete evidence and also said that announcing a phase 6 disease is indeed a big responsibility that she has. She also said she would speak to the governments of different countries to verify the reports. In many countries the H1N1 virus has caused only mild illness but it has also led to the death of health adults. This has only made us take this decision added Chan. Guess only this decision will make even the developing countries get ready with the preventive medicines.
